Persistence is the key: Search every day for a job and don't be afraid to consider moving if needed to land the position you desire. Yes, there are remote positions available, but don't set your sights that high yet. Take any coding position you can to get started. This includes accepting a positon outside of a hospital in hospital based clinic, private physician office, insurance company etc.

Volunteer! Believe it or not, getting your foot in the door at a hospital as a volunteer is a great way to gain valuable experience and could be a step toward moving into the Health Information Management Department. Yes, you need to continue studying, but once you are in the door at the hospital, showcase your skills! Show up every day on time. Look and act professional. Learn every system they have. Be well informed as to the mission and services the hospital provides. If you impress them, you may have an opportunity to potentially get into the department of your choice!
